2017 Ride Info
NOTES FOR THIS YEAR: Amishland and Lakes will be at Lakeland High School in LaGrange, Indiana again this year. Lakeland HS was a fantastic venue last year with plenty of excellent parking, clean and convenient showers and a tasty on campus post-ride meal.
WHERE: The Amishland and Lakes bike tour, sponsored by the Michiana Bicycle Association (MBA) is headquartered on the campus of Lakeland High School which is located in the city of LaGrange, Indiana. LaGrange is located on State Road 9 eight miles south of the Howe-Sturgis interchange (exit 121) of the Indiana Toll Road (I80/90).
WHEN: Packet pickup and day-of registration opens at 6:00 am on Saturday July 29th. The ride offically starts at 7:00 am. Recommended start times are shown in the schedule at the bottom of this page.
WHO: Riders under 18 years of age may participate in the Amishland and Lakes tour only if accompanied by an adult.
COST: The early registration fee (until February 28th) for the Amishland and Lakes bike tour is $30 for indivdiuals and $60 for families. Register soon for the lowest price. The full price schedule is on the registration page .
REGISTRATION: Registration is on-line with no additional fee. If you have an extraordinary situation where you are not able to register on-line you may contact us for a paper/mail-in registration form. See the registration page to register for the 2017 Amishland and Lakes ride.
REGISTRATION PACKAGE: Participants will pick up their ride packet containing maps, wristbands and ride info starting at 6:00 am on July 29th.
ROUTES: Riders will have a choice of 22, 38, 52, 67, or 100 miles over smooth, quiet lightly traveled roads with few hills. The 67 and 100 mile routes pass by Shipshewana. The 52, 67 and 100 mile routes loop through the lake filled scenic countryside around Wolcottville.
MAPS: The ride maps are in color with a high level of road detail. The maps are supplemented with downloadable cue sheets, GPX Track files (GPS route data) and TCX Course files (GPS route data). Printed maps will be provided at registration. The cue sheets, GPX and TCX files must be downloaded. 2017 route maps, cue sheets, SAG distances and GPS files will be available here in early July. SAGS: Well stocked SAG stops will be provided along the tour route. Their location and hours of operation are clearly marked on the tour maps. Amishland and Lakes is known for great SAG food including watermelon, blueberries, peaches, bananas, fresh baked cookies and drinks. In addition fresh baked goods, lemonade, ice cream, etc. can be purchased from Amish roadside stands along the routes. Please make sure that you and your bicycle are well off the road and do not cause congestion at SAG stops.

SAGWAGONS: Sagwagons will be provided to maintain safe conditions on the tour route, to furnish first aid and to assist with EMERGENCY bicycle repairs. They will be clearly marked, will be manned by members of the MBA and will carry a stock of the most commonly needed spare parts.
BICYCLE MAINTENANCE: Participants are required to bring their bicycles in good working order. Outpost Sports will provide bike service at Lakeland High School.
FACILITIES: Indoor restrooms will be available at the High School. Indoor showers will be available for all riders after the ride. Porta Potty will be available at each SAG stop.
AFTER RIDE MEAL: A free post-ride meal will be served at Lakeland High School after the ride. Food service will start at 1:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm. If you are riding a longer distance make sure you start early enough to return to the HS by 4:00 pm. The menu will include Pulled Pork Sandwiches, a number of side dishes, drinks and desert. There will also be a vegetarian option.
